SIZE MATTERS SAYS GAH!Combistream Kitchen
The problem with some combination boilers is that you need a high output burner to keep up with hot water demand. In most cases you end up with an oversized burner for heating demand meaning you can say goodbye to any thoughts of the boiler running at maximum efficiency. However, this isn’t the case with a new concept pioneered by GAH Heating with their oil-fired Combistream boiler launched earlier this year.

The Combistream uses a unique accumulator system based on the GAH Dualstream water control system. At the heart of the Combistream, a stainless steel unvented cylinder storing hot water is the engine that drives the high volume performance of the unit. Upon demand, the water entering the cylinder is also pre-heated, and the two heating methods combine to give outstanding domestic hot water performance. The unique accumulator set up means there’s no need for an outsized burner, which may be out of proportion with central heating demands. Instead, the Ecoflam burner used for the Combistream is rated at 40/60 Btu/h output, with maximum energy efficiency and quiet operation.

The Combistream offers unrivalled domestic hot water performance without using an oversized burner, providing reliable water supplies to multiple outlets using a combi – even with exceptionally low incoming mains water pressure. The new compact unit is small enough to fit in an 800mm kitchen base unit if required, and thanks to it’s unique patented 45o heat exchanger design, is one of the few oil-fired combis that truly has front servicing without the need to remove the worktop.

Combistream means you don’t have to put up with a drop in shower performance every time the dishwasher is turned on. Even in properties with more than one bathroom, or where incoming mains pressure is low, Combistream enhances the incoming mains supply to provide balanced water supplies to all hot water outlets – even when run simultaneously.

GAH have also addressed the problem of scale build up in combis by including their new Cleanstream water conditioning system free of charge with every Combistream boiler. The Cleanstream system gives even more added value by protecting against scale and corrosion, meaning longer life and improved efficiency for heating systems and hot water outlets.
